Firstly, we have to look at what energy is. When I was at school I studies Physics and sound waves, heat waves, light waves. It seemed that everything we could not touch as a solid object travelled by waves and we could learn how to measure these waves. Some waves we felt as warmth, some we heard as sounds, some we saw as colours. When I was in my late teens I joined the State emergency Service as a volunteer and attended classes and training every week on radio waves. The wave length we used was denoted by letters such as HF or VHF. The wave length we used depended on factors such as the terrain we were in and the weather. As time went by I seemed to be learning more and more about energy. My mother had bought me an astrology book when I was 10 years old. But how could the planets affect us? My mother used to tell me about her experiences as a nurse with the psychology patients on a full moon. We were living in a fishing village where it was obvious that the moon affected the tides of water. I loved physiology and learned that we are composed mostly of water and with so much water in our bodies, it appeared logical that we would be affected by moon phases also. COLOURS Ever seen a rainbow? Why do the colours separate? Because they bend at different angles because they have different shapes to their waves. A professor I play tennis with uses this technique to determine what chemicals are on planets far away from us, as each chemical displays a different colour. We all have our favourite colours because the energy of that colour, the way its waves hit our nerves in the back of eye and send messages to our brains, either feels good to us or not so good. If we like it, we call it 'resonating' to us. The colours you like will change through your life as you change. Psychologists will tell you that colours mean specific things. I prefer to say that pink can mean something to you and something different to your neighbour, depending on your experiences of pink. SOUNDS Sounds similarly bounce off the eardrum in waves. You either like the sound or you don't depending on whether the sound wave 'resonates' with you at the time. Your tastes in music can change and you'll find yourself with a heap of useless CD's in a few years time. The sound of some names and numbers also resonate to you. From there you end up with your favourite numbers and names. Say the letter 'D' and you will get a totally different feeling than when you say the soft 'C'. Studies have shown that people who come from countries where the language is harsher in sound are generally more pessimistic whereas those from countries where the language is light and soft are generally more optimistic. These links with sounds are the basis of numerology, which also links in the shapes created by the numbers which we see in images that hit our retinas. RESONATING
